Hello, creative friends!
Some of the best supplies aren’t found in craft stores—they’re already hiding in your home.
Today’s inspiration is all about seeing ordinary things in a new way.
🌿 Creative Prompt
Look around the room you’re sitting in.
Find one object you’d never expect to inspire a journal page.
Maybe it’s a coffee mug, a houseplant, your favorite sweater, or even your cat curled up asleep.
Create a page or journal tag inspired by its colors, textures, or the memories it brings to mind.
⏱️ The 5-Minute Creativity Challenge
Gather five pieces of ephemera from around your house. For example:
- Ribbon or string
- Book pages
- Packaging
- Old envelopes
- Tea bag tags
Place them together in a little envelope or basket for your next creative session.
Future You will be thankful.
✂️ Quick Tip
If you’re not sure whether to keep an interesting paper item…
Keep it!
You can always recycle it later, but once it’s gone, you can’t decide to use it after all.
🎥 Keep Exploring…
Curious about using everyday items in junk journals?
We’ve shared several ideas on our YouTube channel that might give you a fresh perspective on things you’d normally throw away.
💙 Creative Encouragement
Creativity isn’t about having the fanciest supplies.
It’s about seeing possibilities where other people see trash.
That’s one of our favorite things about junk journaling.
🔅 Creative Permission Slip
You have permission to use what you already have.
Your creativity is more important than your supply collection.
Happy creating,
Lindy & Rhys
