Watching the Pattern Develop: Kumihimo Braiding

Rhys smiles while braiding cords with a round white Kumihimo disk.
“Kumihimo is a way of braiding cords together to make a patterned cord. I made this using a Kumihimo disk.

I really enjoy watching the pattern develop as I move the cords around the disk, and I especially like seeing the finished patterned cord come together. It’s fun to see what the pattern looks like when it’s finished!”
