Brown Paper Daydream | A Cozy, Recycled Junk Journal Flip-Through

1000011965

There’s something especially comforting about creating a junk journal from materials that already lived a life before you found them. My newest journal, Brown Paper Daydream, grew out of nothing more than torn packing paper, a bit of fabric, and a pile of rescued ephemera that felt too charming to throw away.

This journal is completely unstructured — no sewing, no strict plan, no rules. Just simple layers, soft texture, and the kind of paper crinkles that make you pause and breathe for a moment.

Inside, you’ll find a mix of old lottery tickets (not mine!), vintage cross-stitch patterns, handwritten notes, and postcards from the 70s and 80s. It’s the kind of journal you want to flip through with a cup of tea nearby.

I recorded two videos to share it with you:

✨ The Calm Flip-Through (3 minutes)

A quiet, soothing page-by-page look at the journal. No talking, just gentle music and lots of cozy crinkle sounds.

☕ The Chatty Walkthrough (16+ minutes)

I talk through the ephemera I chose, where it came from, and why I love making simple, approachable journals like this one.

If you’re new to junk journaling — or if you just want something relaxing to watch — I hope these videos give you a little inspiration and a peaceful moment in your day.
