What’s planned for the new Junk Journal Club in 2026?

I’ve been bouncing some ideas off of the founding members of the newly formed Junk Journal Club (location: Columbiana, Ohio) and we’ve decided it might be fun to have an ongoing, structured project that we can work on together. Something that we’ll add pieces to every month or so when we meet, and at the end of the year we’ll have a cohesive, finished project.

After reviewing many possible ideas all weekend, I think I’ve decided on one that’s not only attractive, but also beginner friendly. It also lends itself perfectly to a monthly process and theme.

I’ll give you more details as we go along, but here are a few things you’ll want to know:

  • Membership in the Junk Journal Club is FREE. Anyone can join.
  • Our tentative plan for 2026 is to make a beautiful little tag journal, designed by Caroline’s Craft Tree, a lovely & talented Canadian designer. Caroline offered this free project as a craft along activity every month throughout 2024.
  • The project will be using Caroline’s free printables. When I post dates on the events calendar here on this site, I’ll include a link so you can download the materials we’ll be using. You can either print them at home or at the library if you don’t have a printer or need assistance.
  • Club participants will need to provide their own materials (printables) unless otherwise specified, and tools such as glue, scissors, ruler, etc. Here’s a list of essential and recommended tools. Of course we’re always happy to answer any questions about best choices and sources for your papercrafting toolkit.

Here’s a preview of the tag journal (you’ll forgive the cluttered desk)
